+# Assignment Moderation
+
+Every assignment issued to students at Coventry University needs to go through several checks:
+
+1. The first check is carried out by the **internal moderator** which is another academic from the same subject area.
+2. The second check is carried out by the **external moderator** who is appointed from a different university.
+
+At the moment the moderation process involves completing a document using **Microsoft Word** which needs to be shared between the people involved.
+
+A better solution would be a moderation website or app that could be used to complete the process.
+
